About the class;
Following on from a web-class earlier this year about duration – with the amazing Mary Hunter – was lots of discussion in the ATA members only FB group. Some of the discussions centered around distinctions in approach to teaching duration!

In the above awesome discussion – Jan Østergaard was mentioned (by Sarah Owings) as of the best teachers of duration that she had ever seen. Consequently I was thrilled when Jan said he would jump on a live class with us to discuss his personal approach more! Woo Hoo!
This class will be a mixed bag of fun! We are going to share some videos from Jan’s training, have a discussion/Q&A session on duration training and even have an ATA member (the fantastic Kristin Due Holmegaard) join us live to work on some duration behaviours with her beautiful dog Felix!
About Jan Østergaard;
Jan Østergaard likes to describe himself as a dog loving man – doing things the outlaw ways! He loves everything to do with canine learners and his learning odyssey has seen him learn from the amazing Morten Egtvedt, Cecilie Køste and Catja Pedersen.
Jan took the Canis clicker training certification in 2011 – which helped him develop his training style; focusing heavily on clicker training, voluntary behaviour, back chaining and shaping. As a person who is continually seeking out development opportunities Jan also travelled to Norway in 2015 and completed a more advanced instructor certification with Canis. Since that time Jan has instructed internationally and also with clients in his home country – Denmark.
