Josephine Atkins-Darcy Bio
Josephine Atkins-Darcy (Jo for short) grew up on a mixed farm in Northern Tasmania (Australia) with her two sisters. Tame dairy cows, pet pigs & sheep, farm dogs and ponies were all part of their lives
Leaving home to study Fine Art at the University of Tasmania in 1987, Jo took her pony with her, and found her first real “pet dog”, Weymouth, a bedraggled Terrier on a Print Making camp at Uni. Once graduating from Uni she volunteered at the RSPCA and was given a job managing the cattery. Jo then moved to Hobart in her early 20’s and worked (and gained a qualification) as a Veterinary Nurse, a Dog Groom and then a scholarship to study Dog Training through the Delta Society, Australia.
The past 12 years has seen Jo develop the concepts of modern positive based dog training methods in relation to her horses and the other animals on their farm.
